Chelsea fans have been sent into meltdown after Napoli star Victor Osmihen hinted at a potential move to Stamford Bridge.

Despite having spent a fortune on new players over the course of the last few transfer windows, Chelsea find themselves sitting 10th in the Premier League, 12 points behind fourth placed Manchester City who have a game in hand on Mauricio Pochettino's side.

This term, the Blues' attack has been led by the streaky Nicolas Jackson, who arrived from Villarreal in the summer for £32million. But so far, the Senegalese forward has hardly hit the ground running at Stamford Bridge, scoring just seven league goals, three of which came against Spurs in Chelsea's wild 4-1 win over Tottenham last month.

With Jackson misfiring this term so far, Chelsea are in the market for a striker to help bolster their attack. And their reported number one target, Victor Osimhen could be keen on a move to the Premier League if his social media activity is to be believed.

On Friday, the Nigerian forward, who fired Napoli to the Serie A title last term, scoring 26 goals in 32 games, celebrated his 25th birthday, with fans of Osimhen sending positive messages on social media. One fan wrote: "Happy birthday Victor Osimhen, pls come and rescue Chelsea soon" attaching a photo of Osimhen as a child wearing a Chelsea shirt from the 2011/2012 season.

And Blues fans will have been thrilled to see the 25-year-old reply to the tweet with two heart emojis, and a praying hands emoji too, hinting he would be open to a move away from Naples in favour of the Premier League.

The pacy forward, who recently signed a new deal through till the summer 2026, would likely cost around £100m. And it was just a few months ago that Napoli and Osimhen had a very public falling out after the Serie A side mocked their star striker on social media.

Sky Sports is bringing you 500 live football games to watch, as well access to Cricket, Golf, F1, Boxing, NFL, NBA and more across eight dedicated channels. Sky Sports is the only way to watch all the action this year.

So offended were Osimhen and his agent by the post, which mocked the Nigerian for missing a penalty against Bologna, the were claims the striker would consider taking legal action against Napoli - with Osimhen also deleting all traces of the Serie A side from his Instagram. The situation has since been remedied.
