"I am worried", Pochettino speaks about missing 11 players against Luton Town game

Chelsea injury news as the Blues are set to travel up to Kenilworth Road without some of their key stars following a new update from Mauricio Pochettino

Chelsea midfielder Romeo Lavia is now a doubt for the trip to Kenilworth Road as the Blues prepare to take on Luton Town this weekend

Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino will be hoping that two of his stars will be able to make it back in time for their trip to Kenilworth Road as they take on Luton Town on Saturday afternoon.

Summer signing Romeo Lavia finally made his Blues debut at Stamford Bridge in midweek after suffering an ankle injury and the subsequent recovery over the past few months. In the 2-1 win over Crystal Palace, it appears as though the midfielder managed to pick up a knock and is now a doubt for the early kick-off this weekend.

It comes as a disappointing end to what had been a solid first 30 minutes for the 19-year-old, who slotted into the midfield well alongside Conor Gallagher and Moises Caicedo on his first outing. Speaking ahead of the bout with the Hatters, Pochettino admitted: "He feels something, some issue. We need to check and hope it’s not [bad].

"I'm a little bit worried. I don't know, because if you were watching the game [against Crystal Palace] you cannot appreciate I was changing the position with Lavia at the end because he was struggling to run. We will see what is going on.

"Hopefully it is not a big issue and he can play with us again. Important player that will recover and it is going to be a shame if we cannot use him in the next few games."

Another doubt for the Luton game is winger Mykhailo Mudryk, who fired home the goal that set the tone for the Blues early on against Roy Hodgson's side but was forced off in the second half following a heavy challenge. The star stayed down on the sidelines as he was replaced and checked over by the club doctors before shuffling his way around the Stamford Bridge pitch and back onto the bench.
