£113m star player agreed to sign for Chelsea this summer

One of the best players in the world is interested in making a move to Chelsea this summer.

Mauricio Pochettino‘s side are showing really positive signs on the pitch. They have done well since the turn of 2024 and are currently seventh in the table – a place above Manchester United and just two points below sixth-place Newcastle.

Irrespective of what happens in the remainder of this season, Chelsea are expected to be active in the upcoming summer transfer window. A new striker will be high on the club’s wish list.

Victor Osimhen is a wanted man, and Chelsea have been heavily linked with a move to sign him.

The Napoli star is one of the best strikers in the world. He scored 26 goals in the Serie A last season to help the Partenopei win their first league title in over three decades.

Osimhen is expected to leave Napoli this summer, and GiveMeSport have shared an update that will excite Chelsea supporters.

The outlet reveals that “Osimhen is interested in joining Chelsea after being identified as their top striker target’ ahead of the summer transfer window.

It has been claimed that the Nigeria international forward is open to a move to Stamford Bridge ‘despite also gaining interest from Champions League semi-finalists Paris Saint-Germain‘.

Osimhen, who is under contract at Napoli until the summer of 2026, has a release clause in his deal that makes him available for £113 million.

The Naples-based club have reportedly made it clear that they will not accept any fee less than his release clause.

That shouldn’t be a problem for Chelsea, who smashed the £100 million mark twice in back-to-back windows in 2023 – first on Enzo Fernandez and then on Moises Caicedo.

Mauricio Pochettino’s men had a really poor first half of the campaign, and one of their biggest problems has been goals from their frontman.

Nicolas Jackson has done a decent job up front for Chelsea. He has scored 16 goals in all competitions, 13 of which have come in the Premier League.

However, Jackson has missed 22 big chances so far this season, which is the third-worst record in the entire division. That has been a big problem for Chelsea.

Osimhen has proven that he can be much more clinical in front of goal – he has only missed 11 big chances this season.

If Chelsea can get him and he hits the ground running, the Blues could become a force next term.
