Big announcement from Stamford Bridge as Chelsea complete the signing of a wonderkid

Chelsea have confirmed that they have now signed one youngster to a professional contract.

The club posted on their official website that Leo Cardoso has signed terms on a senior deal after impressing with the youth sides.

Cardoso was signed from West Brom back in 2022, and has suffered an unfortunate run of injuries since making his move.

However, he has begun to make his mark this season, with his one appearance in the U18 Premier League being memorable.

In a 70 minute showing, he found the net twice in the extremely impressive youth side.

The club themselves have been excited by him, describing him as ‘highly technical’.

Cardoso new contract

The Blues are seemingly making an effort in recent weeks to sign some of their hottest talents to professional contracts, perhaps off the back of some leaving when their deals have come to an end in the past.

It was recently announced that they have opened talks with Leo Castledine about a new deal.

Officials at the club are reportedly big fans of the player, with him being seen as part of the first team matchday squad earlier this season.

Now, they have turned their attention to Cardoso, with the club confirming he has signed a professional deal.

It is a dangerous time for the youth players coming through at Cobham based on what is currently going on under Todd Boehly.

There is an impotence placed on signing the stars of tomorrow from around the world before they are poached by an elite side first.

The star addition so far has been Kendry Paez, who will join up with the Blues in 2025.

He has already become a regular for the Ecuador senior side alongside Moises Caicedo, and has been tipped for big things in his career when he arrives at Stamford Bridge.
